"It's rare to find (a presenter) as imaginative and original as Thaddeus Rex" -time out new york
THADDEUS REX:
"ENGAGE YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH A GREAT STORY, & THEY'LL WANT TO BE PART OF IT" - Thaddeus Rex
BIO - COMPLETE VERSION:
Few presenters have been compared to both Dale Carnegie and David Bowie. Fewer still have the honor of being called “part Monty Python, part Dr. Seuss” by the Washington Post.
Thaddeus Rex began his music career in 1999, the same year Napster started. Needless to say, it was a bumpy start, but with a degree in philosophy and parents unable to help, there was no Plan B.
17 months later Thaddeus was falling into poverty. Living in a single room in a downtown slum, a shared bathroom down the hall and a neighborhood that made you thankful to have it all because you saw others sleeping in your dumpster.
As the winter heating bills rose, the grocery budget hit a crunch, and Thaddeus began to consider food stamps. In a desparate move, Rex fired his agent and began calling venues on his own. Recognizing ‘out of town’ acts got the best gigs, he called no one in Indiana, but telephoned California, Oregon and other west coast areas. The gamble paid off, and with 37 paid engagements across the west coast, Thaddeus's professional career finally took off 2,000 miles away from home.
By focusing on inspiration, and not just entertainment, Rex began to stand out. What began as a man, a guitar, and 5 fans at a local bookstore swelled to over 150 appearances in 21 states by the end of the first year. He eventually built a thriving business, selling out large theatres and even hockey arenas.
As Thaddeus likes to say, “With the right brand there is no competition. You get to become sole provider to the world!”
PBS took notice & invited him to join their Emmy Award Winning show, ‘The Friday Zone’. His unique brand of motivation was tapped to create the now famous ‘Read Like a Rock Star’ program.
Advising and creating programs for the National Endowment for the Arts, Chicago Public Libraries, NYC Parks Foundation, and many more, Thaddeus began moving beyond the music. Applauded by Indiana’s Governor for helping create a unique program to foster rural entrepreneurs, Rex’s ability to inspire people to get involved in unique ideas caught the attention of Rotarians at his local club.
At their request, Thaddeus created “Inspire Like a Rock Star”, a presentation to help owners and executives build brands that inspire customer interaction. He's since been applauded by people at Edward Jones, Chicago Bears, Target, State Farm, Rotary International, and many more.
A winner of more than 22 writing awards, including a Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and a James Patterson PageTurner Award, Thaddeus Rex has become a sought after speaker and consultant, recognized across America for his ability to help owners inspire their customers. Join Thaddeus and learn the process developed to help your business INSPIRE LIKE A ROCK STAR!
