For Parent Involvement
How do you transform a blank sheet of paper into a poem, story, or report? With techniques to help generate ideas and get them on paper, this interactive after school concert workshop has children & parents collectively brainstorm ideas, then write and record a song.
Along the way they learn the importance of metaphor, alliteration, imperfect vs. perfect rhymes, phrasing, brainstorming, story structure, writing strategies and more!
After the program, their song is posted on Thadeus Rex’s blog for the world to hear!
By connecting curriculum to Rock n’ Roll, we get parents excited to help, because everyone would love to see their child Write Like a Rock Star!

For Teachers
We give teachers the tools to keep the kids motivated and maintain the enthusiasm we leave behind. With specific techniques to engage students and remind them why reading is for rock stars, We show you how to develop a contagious enthusiasm in the classroom that will have them all Reading and Writing Like Rock Stars for the rest of the year (and hopefully, beyond…).

Write Like a Rock Star! Writing Contest
The Write Like a Rock Star writing contest is a place where kids can share their poems with the world. Parents & teachers get to help, and we’re able to reward their creative efforts!
Each year Thaddeus turns the winning poem into a song for his next CD. The young poet becomes a professional songwriter, even earning royalty checks for their work.
Further, every participant is awarded a certificate so they can show the world they know how to Write Like a Rock Star!

In order to keep the focus on your educational message and your costs low, ‘Rock’ (the dinosaur mascot) does not usually attend school events.
School Membership
Become a Write Like a Rock Star Member School and we’ll send you a certificate each time one of your students submits a poem, proving they know how to Write Like a Rock Star!
